Coordinated Astronomical Numerical Software CANS

CANS (Coordinated Astronomical Numeical Software) is the integrated software for Magneto-Hydrodynamic Astrophysical Simulationa. Using CANS, you can simulate solar, stellar, and interstellar hydrodynamic phenomena very easily. Here, you will find explanations and movie results of typical astrophysical simulation examples used CANS and also you can use its analyzation tools. Anyone can simulate astrophysical phenomena listed in CANS web page on either PC or work station if Fortran compiler has been installed.

Numerical Experiment is a powerful tool for astro/space phenomena which are impossible to mimic in the ground laboratory. However, textbook for astrophysical simulations and lectures at undergraduate and graduate school are still under developing. Therefore, we have organized summer school in order to give introductory course of Numerical Astrophysics and extend the population of CANS users.
